When you join article writing sites where you can earn a little extra income, you will no doubt be eager to get
started submitting articles to the sites so you can start earning. Do not be in too much of a hurry!
You do not want to submit work that goes against the guidelines or terms and conditions of the site. You also
want to be sure that the work you've put effort into and that you submit to the site will bring you the rewards
you hope for.
You found an article that highlighted the positive aspects of joining a certain site and the writer might even
have disclosed their earnings. Of course you'll be keen to become a member at that site as soon as possible too.
However, to avoid any possible problems or regrets about joining, it is best to first go through the site, thoroughly:
Read the submission guidelines and terms and conditions
Read the FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) and tutorials
See if you'll fit in with the type of community the site has by visiting the forum or reading comments on writers'
articles
Go through some of the articles submitted by other members and get an idea of what kind of style of writing the
site likes to publish
See if any of the members mention
their earnings and decide if those earnings are what you'd be happy with -
see if you can work out how long it might take you to earn the same as what other members say they earn
Take note of what the referral structure is - if it's quite good, it may be the only reason the first article you
found about the site sounded so positive
Once you feel you've gone through the site as thoroughly as you can, visit your favorite search engine and
do some searches. You're looking for articles on other sites that describe the site you are planning to join.
Do more than one search and add words to the name of the site, like:
Review
Scam
Pros and cons
Earnings
Comparison
Versus
If the first two or three articles you find do not have anything positive to say about the site, don't give up
yet, but at the same time do not be so intent on joining the writing site that you ignore "warning signals."
It will help tremendously if you can find sites or blogs that review many extra income opportunities and that
have many comments on their posts. Always read the comments. People who are already members of the writing site
in question often make comments on blog posts about that site and you will be able to gauge how many members are
happy with the site, and how many are considering leaving the site. Try and determine if the reasons people want
to leave the site are valid reasons indicating that the site is not a site that will benefit you in any way.
It may sound like a lot of effort to do research on an article writing site before joining it and submitting
articles to it, but it could save you a lot of time in the end. Rather do the research first, then, if happy,
join the writing site and be confident about knowing exactly what to do to make the best of your membership
there, rather than struggle to learn "along the way" and risk getting banned from the site for making silly mistakes.
A PayPal account is needed for you to be paid by some of the sites. If South African, learn how to open an FNB bank
cheque account, open a PayPal account, and how to link the PayPal account to your FNB cheque account by reading
through the
steps I took to do the same.
