To work from home, who says you have to make and sell a product, or do freelance work like writing or design?

You can work from home providing a service to others!

Just a few ideas to get you thinking about what service or services you can provide to others:

Book-keeping

Many women are capable bookkeepers, contrary to their husband's credit card claims. If you have a bookkeeping background, a PC, and suitable software, one or two smalls ads will get you the few clients you need.

Typing Service

I was, and still am amazed at the demand for typing services. A service I know of does very little advertising, almost none in fact, yet has a small but steady throughput of typing work.

Laundry service

Unlike you, there are some women unfortunate enough to have full-time jobs. This is good news for you. If these moms have children, the news is even better. At least once during the week, and then again over the weekend, they will have to do some laundry. By taking advantage of your laundry service, working mothers will gain more time for their family, more time for other chores, and ultimately a more relaxed life-style. Your service can include washing, ironing, packing, hanging, and even collection/delivery. Don't wash other peoples underwear, that's kinda icky.

Domestic Service

The same mothers mentioned in the laundry service snippet will be able to free up more of their time by allowing you into their homes on a pre-arranged schedule, to perform a series of services they require. You appoint a few domestic workers, and take them with you, to do the work. As you expand, you will know how many staff are needed on which days. An ex-colleague used to have a daily breakfast clean-up.

2nd hand baby things

One thing that will never stop is babies. As a mother, you will know what the cost of raising a child is. It's also very likely that you were not fortunate enough to be able to afford everything you wanted your baby to have. Well, this is your opportunity to earn some money while helping others. By asking or scratching around, visiting flea markets and junk shops, and attending garage sales and auctions, you will soon find yourself in possession of plenty of baby stuff. A little cleaning, patching and painting will restore everything to almost new, and render it very sellable!
